It is always interesting to win a project tender in a prominent city location, and this retail fit out of an old Burger King site in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne was no exception.
Kaspas, the client, required VDB to action many internal refurbishment works including demolition of old installations, structural alterations, connection of utilities services, and the interior fit-out of new washing facilities, and customer seating throughout the premises.
During this project, we uncovered an old basement that had been bricked up, and we subsequently undertook a full refurbishment of the basement to act as a store for the client.
Despite additional variation to works posited by the client, and the challenge of discovering new areas of the building formerly not shown on any plans, we worked succinctly and in a timely manner to complete the works for the client in 11 weeks, ahead of schedule and on time for their grand opening.
Kaspas are opening new locations throughout the UK and abroad and remain loyal customers to VDB to this day. We are exceptionally happy to have them as long serving customers.
